NSW PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE
The 2025 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) has officially opened and this week we had even more students sign up to participate in the challenge!
Remember, if your child is interested in participating, there is still plenty of time for students to sign up. Parents/carers of new students wishing to participate or requiring further information will need to contact Mrs Amanda Ayres: amanda.ayres@lism.catholic.edu.au to arrange login details.
As mentioned in previous newsletters, the Premier’s Reading Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading and to experience quality literature. It is open to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 at St Peter’s and is a great way to keep students motivated with regular reading. Student’s completing the challenge receive a certificate in Term 4 recognising their achievement.

Many of the titles on the book lists are available in our school library or digital online library (SORA) for borrowing and our local town library is also a great resource.
ASHTON SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB
Issue 2 brochures have now been distributed to students. Any cash payment orders will need to be returned to school by 9.00am Wednesday 26th March. Please ensure cash payments include your child’s name, class and correct payment. Online L.O.O.P. orders will close at 9.00pm.
Families who placed orders online through L.O.O.P. for Issue 1 should have received a $5 promotional code with their order confirmation that can be used towards online purchases of $19.50 or more for Issue 2. More details about this offer are available via the following link:

COMMUNITY EVENT:
GIANT BOOK SALE !!
The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie is running their “Annual Giant Book Sale” between the 21st-23rd March at the Panthers Auditorium. There will be over 25,000 books available comprising fiction and non-fiction options for both adults and children.
With children’s books priced at only 50 cents, this event presents a fantastic opportunity for students to stock up on reading material and expand their interest!
All funds raised from the event will go back into our local community or to support youth activities.
