YEAR 6 CAMP

Last week, Year 6 travelled to Sydney for their annual camp. The students had an amazing time visiting places such as Luna Park, Centre Point Tower and Maddame Tussauds Wax Museum. They were also taught teamwork skills and put out of their comfort zones in a variety of activities including kayaking, sailing, high ropes and raft building.

One of my favourite things we did at camp was Luna Park. My friends and I enjoyed all of the exhilarating rides, Bumper Cars, The Boomerang and even the Rotor three times. Another great memory I had at camp was Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. We saw so many ridiculously realistic actors and other famous stars, sometimes they were too real. The campsite in Narrabeen was extraordinary, my favourite activity was Archery and Archery Tag.

I really appreciate that all of the teachers took up their time to make us have the greatest camp imaginable.

I really enjoyed going to Narrabeen Sport and Rec Camp for Year six camp because they had a wide and fun range of activities. My favourite camp activities were sailing and archery, but my favourite out-of-camp activity was going to Luna Park and SeaLife. The camp also had lots of great food, and plenty of it. We also had free time in our clean, large cabins, and the beds were really comfortable. It was an amazing experience, and most of the activities involved groups and team-building games.

First off, I think the breakfast was good and Luna Park was amazing. The Aquarium was so good and the Wax Museum was very surprising. I was very scared of the Centre Point Tower.

Luna Park was great, the rides were good, they were so good, I went on the big dipper 3 times and the hammer once I reckon the hammer was the scariest. The Aquarium was good, so was the Wax Museum and the Centre Point Tower was tall.

Camp was tons of fun! Everyone was really nice, and doing the whole experience with my friends was phenomenal. My favourite activity was shooting people - otherwise known as Archery Tag! We ran around trying to hit people, and stayed out of the way of the opposing team’s arrows. The best water activity on the other hand was probably stand up paddle boarding. On the other hand, with raft building we capsized immediately! Our Year 6 camp was awesome!

TECH CLUB

SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER

This Saturday our Tech Club team is competing at the All Schools Lego League Championships. For the past 3 months, students from Years 5 and 6 have been working hard in teams to design and build lego structures and code robots they have created to interact with these structures. They will be competing against other schools, being judged on their design, coding ability, innovation, teamwork and presentation skills, tomorrow at the Port Macquarie Basketball Stadium.

Good Luck to our amazing 2023 Tech Club students!

In the first Lego League, you learn to code, build and work as a team. You have to build a robot that can complete challenges. You meet new people and problem-solve and research how to make the robot work. You learn to work as a team and you also learn new skills with Lego. The good thing about building with Lego is you get to be creative and if you make mistakes you can change or fix them.
