All About Sport
So proud!
To say we are so proud of our sporting achievements yet again is an understatement. This week, we had 6 students attend the Polding Cross Country Trials in Sydney. This event is undoubtedly one of the toughest sporting events that anyone can compete in at Polding level. Blake Mitchell, Will Coombes, Amaya Davis, Preston Davis, Noah Blemith, Elysa Blemith ran their hearts out, and we are just in awe of your achievements.
Results were:
| Amaya Davis | Year 3 | 5th |
| Noah Blemith | Year 4 | 5th |
| Elysa Blemith | Year 5 | 27th |
| Will Coombes | Year 5 | 3rd |
| Blake Mitchell | Year 5 | 24th |
| Preston Davis | Year 6 | 5th |
Congratulations to:
Noah, Preston, Amaya and William will now represent Polding and compete at the NSWPSSA Cross Country Carnival in early Term 3.
Elective Sports taking shape
I am very close to finalising the Elective Sports for 2021. I envisage in the Week 9 Postman Pete, we will have details of all sports and their cost as well as the process involved in booking your child/ren through the online registration. Each sport will have a maximum number of students allocated to that sport for safety reasons. Once the online registration opens, it will be a first in best dressed process. If the sport that your child wanted is booked out, you will need to select another sport.
The sports confirmed at this stage are:
Stage 1 - (Years 1 & 2)- School Sport, Springloaded, Dance (Eisteddfod Groups only)
Stage 2 - (Years 3 & 4) - School Sport, Springloaded, Hydro Golf and Putt Putt, Planet X, Ten Pin Bowling, Dance (Eisteddfod Groups only)
Stage 3 - (Years 5 & 6) - School Sport, Springloaded, Centre of Gravity, Crossfit, Dance (Eisteddfod Groups only)
Please note, due to not obtaining the numbers required (class size), Learn to Surf won’t be an option for Stage 3.
Welcome to Ben Oakley
We are very fortunate to have Ben Oakley from Newman Senior Technical College. Ben will be at St Peter’s each Thursday for a number of weeks assisting our students in physical education. He will be taking a number of students from a wide variety of year levels for brain breaks/engine room activities and assisting Year 3 in PE. This week, Ben had students getting out and active by using slam balls and a wide variety of sporting equipment.
One last event for Term 2
The Independent and Catholic Schools Rugby League Gala Day (Years 5-6) will be held on Thursday June 24. A note will be sent home early next week to the team.
